Portugal. The Man teams with Danny Brown for Jake One remix

In anticipation for the upcoming US tour this fall, Portugal. The Man have unveiled Jake One's remix of Evil Friends' title track featuring Danny Brown. Jake One keeps the original's psychedelic twinkle in tact while Danny delivers a verse appropriate for only the most evil of friends. Speaking on the remix and how it came about, Portugal. The Man's John Gourley said:

"I heard about this mix happening a while back from Benny Blanco. He had mentioned that one of his friends had pulled a dope sample out of 'Evil Friends.' That friend turned out to be Jake One, who basically flipped the whole track. He pulled the sample, dropped the tempo and replaced the beat. At this point we had heard the track and could dig the vibes but I never expected someone to jump on it and deliver with the pace that Danny Brown did. As a fan of hip hop and all things competitive I'd say that Jake and Danny pointed where our music could go and how open it is to interpretation. All love to Danny Brown and Jake One, they crushed it. To everyone else, step up and take note. Sample our records - we have stems available for those who want them."

In light of that, the band is sharing the stems for Evil Friendsstandout "Purple Yellow Red & Blue" today. Having been previously remixed by Passion Pit, the track's stems are now available here for fans to download and remix on their own. Remixes can be submitted here upon completion. The band will be posting their favorite remixes as they come in.
