Polly Scattergood is eagerly awaiting the release of her sophomore album, Arrows on October 22nd, 2013. Arrows reflects Scattergood’s growth as a musician and as a world traveler.
Even though Polly was constantly on the go while writing this album with songs finding their foundations created in London, Paris, Berlin and Norfolk her signature blend of storytelling remains the enrapturing main attraction. Youthful, optimistic, enchanting and playful Scattergood embraces and releases her new landscapes and experiences, constantly stretching for new skylines. Scattergood describes the writing process best herself, “This album was my ‘arrow,’ pointing me in the right direction after I was lost - This feels like where I want to be as an artist.”
The album’s lead track and second single “Cocoon”will be released via Mute on September 24th.Today we are excited for you to check out the new video for “Cocoon.”Directed by the award-winning Madrid-based video collective NYSU; this is the second video they have directed for Polly having enjoyed their time together creating the video for “Wanderlust”, the first single off of Arrows.
Bursting from the “cocoon” of the studio, Polly is also spreading her wings live, but “things have changed a bit,” she affirms: “With the old songs, I had to adopt characters. The big costumes gave me courage to get onstage. I remember gluing bits of diamantes onto feathers for weeks before a gig. Now I’m more confident in the sounds and in myself and where I am in my life. I’m very proud of what I’ve made.” Her dates continue with a show at Koko in London on September 27th.
