Lyla Foy US Tour Kicks-Off April 17th
In Support of Mirrors the Sky

Watch “Impossible” Live Session

Spring & Summer 2014 Tour Dates
Extended Through August 31st

Lyla Foy (formerly WALL) will embark on her first ever US tour later this week in support of Mirrors the Sky, which begins April 17th in Minneapolis, MN at 7th Street Entry and ends on April 26th in Philadelphia, PA at Milkboy.  Foy has also extended her previously announced European tour schedule through August 31st. To get a taste of what to expect from Foy’s upcoming live show, we’d like to point you to a recently recorded live session for the song, “Impossible” (view here). Please find a complete list of tour dates below.

NPR Music’s“All Songs Considered” recently featured Mirrors the Sky cut “Honeymoon” and said, “If you mix Kate Bush vocals with Postal Service sounds, the result would be Lyla Foy (see April 1 Episode).”

Pitchfork also says of Mirrors the Sky, “The result might be best described as a digital pastoral: sequences and synthesizers blending with live instruments to create the kind of introverted, outdoorsy reverie most commonly associated with acoustic folk. Foy’s songs are both lush and low-key, intimate and surprisingly intricate. She layers beats generously but carefully, alternating between buoyant (“I Only”, with its percolating intro) and bittersweet (“Only Human”, with its insistent snare tap). Except on the relatively aerodynamic “Feather Tongue”, which could easily be remixed into a throbbing dance number suitable for a meadow rave, Foy’s concern isn’t rhythm but texture and tapestry. The tempos are generally slow and rigid, which  fits the general atmosphere of the record and gives you a better opportunity to admire her craft (see album review March 19th)”

Lyla Foy’s Mirrors the Sky, featuring the songs and video for “Feather Tongue,” alongside “Easy,” “I Only” and “Impossible,” was mixed and produced by Foy at her studio in London.  The album is available on CD / LP / DL  via Sub Pop at a fine retailer near you.  The album is also available for purchase at SubPop.com. Orders through subpop.com will receive Loser edition vinyl(while supplies last) as well as a new t-shirt and bundle options.

What People Have Said About LylaFoy:
'...think of an indie Kate Bush, Foy's voice both thrilling and soothing and winds definitely and occasionally desperate romanticism around the colliding worlds of folk and electro pop. [Mirrors the Sky] - Q Magazine

“...Her silken, sultry vocals are barley there at times, but commands great emotional power, from the desolate swooning of “Honeymoon” to the voluptuously tragic “Warning” [Mirrors the Sky] - Uncut Magazine

“Thoughtful, slow burning dream pop from the Londoner who alloys Lana Del Rey's cheek-sucking gothic romanticism to Feist's cerebral folk dexterity on cool, accomplished but still minimal sounding debut.” [Mirrors the Sky] Mojo Magazine

"Mirrors the Sky is a beautiful debut by an incredibly talented musician who has very bright prospects for the future" [Mirrors The Sky]- The 405

"It's warm, pretty, and quite often stunning" [Mirrors The Sky] - This Is Fake DIY

"It’s an astral display of how elegant, melodic and emotional pop can be" [Mirrors The Sky] - Music OMH

"There’s no denying the talent at play here" [Mirrors The Sky] - Drowned In Sound

“Everything about the first single from U.K. songstress Lyla Foy is understated — her languid vocals, the rolling melody, the gently muted synths. Combined with the 25-year-old’s way with words, it’s pretty intoxicating, and stokes anticipation for her full-length, “Mirrors the Sky.”[“Feather Tongue”] - Buzzbands LA
