Updated 2015 Tour Dates
‘The Air Conditioned Nightmare’ out April 6th/7th via Sub Pop
Doldrums have shared “Loops,” the latest offering from The Air Conditioned Nightmare with FACT Magazine.
FACT says of the track, “Loops” is one of the most welcoming, club-friendly things they’ve done yet. Don’t think for a second that means Doldrums are going soft, since ‘Loops’ quickly begins stretching and warping until it sounds like three different songs fighting each other for dominance with Airick caught in the middle (see premiere March 2nd).”
Meanwhile Stereogum offers this, ““Loops” is constructed around a pulsating, subdued backbone. It’s more about the slide than the bounce, and Airick Woodhead takes a handful of disparate sounds and entangles them until they meld into one cohesive whole (see track post March 2nd).”
Doldrums’ previously announced 2-month tour in support of their forthcoming Sub Pop debut, The Air Conditioned Nightmare, begins with a hometown show April 9th in Montreal, QC at Bar Le Ritz and currently ends on August 7th in Katowice, PL at OFF Festival. New tour highlights include: May 16 in Rome, IT at Spring Attitude Festival; May 19 in Lile, FR at La Peniche; May 29 in Paris, FR at Le Pop Up du Label; And May 30 in Bordeaux, FR at  Iboat. Support for the North American dates (April 15-May 9th) will come from Last Gang recording artist Moon King. Please find a complete list of tour dates below.
Doldrums' The Air Conditioned Nightmare will be available on CD / LP / DL April 6th in Europe and April 7th in North America from Sub Pop.  Preorders of the album are now available from Sub Pop Mega Mart,iTunesAmazon and Bandcamp. What people are saying about Doldrums:
“There’s quite a lot going on in the track for the erratic beats and distorted vocals to the otherworldly bass and multitude of different rhythms, but somehow it all manages to work quite well together.” [Track Review] - The 405
“Whether it’s the moments filled with soul-crushing wails or blitzes of distorted synth, an unshakable sense of rage permeates every moment of this harsh, twisted anthem.” [Track Review] - Consequence of Sound
“It’s a tall order to capture whatever the hell America is in song, but Woodhead (a Canadian, no less) crystallizes it in chaos on “HOTFOOT” by embracing its uniquely bewildering and magnetic penchant for catastrophe.” [“Song of the Day”] - KEXP
”Hotfoot” is a master class in drone-y weirdness with a pop sensibility”  [Track Review] - COMPLEX
“Hotfoot” does not indicate is a drop in intensity. The song hits hard, its skewed metropolitan pulse giving way to aggro percussive bass bursts that remind me of LCD Soundsystem’s “Losing My Edge.”  [Track Review]  - Stereogum
“…HOTFOOT," which is a literal banger -- the main hook of the song is like a pogoing jackhammer and a car alarm all in one. In a good way, maybe owing just a bit to mid-'90s electronica. [Track Review]  -Brooklyn Vegan
“ In what little cracks are left between demolitions and Woodhead's sly, zonked-out rambling, you can hear the clatter of live, room-recorded drums, endless effects trails, and hand-triggered samples lifted from God knows where. These are remnants of Doldrums' writing process, and chances are that involves jamming on some heady grooves in a small, smokey room. It's surprising how well all the ideas work together, no matter how cluttered and overstuffed "HOTFOOT" may sound, but Doldrums has specialized in conjuring the unexpected.”  [Track Review] - Pitchfork
