Following the frenzied response to previous track ‘Satellites’ earlier this year, one that signalled the return of Danish quartet Mew, ‘Water Slides’ continues to prime the US media who are salivating at the long awaited return of Mew after an over-long six year hiatus.
‘Water Slides’ was premiered on Pitchfork this week and is taken from the forthcoming album ‘+ -‘ (plus minus), released though through Play It Again Sam on 27th April and available as an instant grat when preordering the album through iTunes - http://po.st/plusminusitunes
Continuing their original four-piece, a set up that reconvened for their last album, 2005’s ‘And The Glass Handed Kites.Weaving their own destiny since their inception whilst lauded by many of their peers Mew have reached the onset of a new chapter. One that never fails to intrigue with their nuances and wonderfully skewed off-kilter pop brilliance - ‘Water Slides’ sees the band at their exhilarating best, one that takes an evolving expansive journey that pushes their musical parameters.
Meanwhile, Mew hit the UK for a handful of shows culminating with their biggest London show to date at The Roundhouse, the band the return in August for the Green Man Festival.
