“That’s one cool chick,” said Iggy Pop of Kitten’s Chloe Chaidez while the two danced together onstage. Many others have shared similar sentiments: Kitten fulfilled Rolling Stone’s 2013 prophecy that she was a “top ten artist to watch” when, one year later, the foremost music publication once again hailed Chaidez, including Kitten’s self-titled album in their list of " 20 Best Pop Albums of 2014" alongside Pharell Williams, La Roux, Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift. They were similarly praised by Time Magazine, Spin, and the Los Angeles Times -- with Time placing Kitten in the company of My Bloody Valentine and Azalea Banks in the "11 albums to look forward to in 2014."

 

Kitten has also earned the reputation of being a formidable live act, both as headliners and through extensive touring with Paramore, Joy Formidable and Charli XCX as well as opening for a diverse range of artists from Garbage and No Doubt to Phoenix and Young the Giant. And despite overwhelming praise and success for their album, it is on these stages where Kitten truly shines: “What’s going to make this band different is our live show,” said the Chloe. “I love being onstage more than anything. When you are up there you can do whatever you want. You can be whatever you want. If there’s one person in the back of the room not involved, then that’s my audience. I’ll do whatever I have to do to blow that person away. I want everybody in the audience to remember where they were when they saw Kitten for the first time.”

 

Kitten is an American indie rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2009. In 2010, they released their first EP, Sunday School. In 2011, they followed up with the release of their second EP Cut It Out. In August 2013, the EP Like a Stranger was made available on iTunes. Kitten's self-titled debut album, produced by co-writer Chad Anderson with Nick Johns and Gavin MacKillop, was released on June 24, 2014. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked it #16 on its list of 20 Best Pop Albums of 2014. It has been documented that witnessing Kitten perform elicits “the honest chill of discovery."
