THE ZOMBIES CONTINUE INVASION OF AMERICA
TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED FOR JUNE & July 2013
Breathe Out, Breathe In Gets Official U.S. Release via Redeye Distribution
FOLLOWS SUCCESSFUL INVASION OF SXSW
"The Zombies are a relevant band from the classic rock era and time hasn't dulled their musical allure. There are at least 500 band here that would kill for their career." – Glide Magazine
"The Zombies sounded good, period. Blunstone can still pull off a wail...and Argent remains a virtuoso organist. They were also pretty adorable on stage, giving thumbs up to the audience after every song and seeming genuinely touched by such an enthusiastic response roughly 50 years after their formation. Justin Timberlake can only hope for the same when he performs at SXSW 2053." – AV Club
The Zombies, one of the first and most influential of the first wave of bands to hit the U.S. during the British Invasion of the 1960’s, have just announced tour dates for June and July 2013. The summer dates follow a highly successful tour earlier this year, which opened in Montreal where The Montreal Gazette raved “The Zombies concert anointed event of the year.” The tour also included six SRO performances during the South By Southwest music conference, considered one of the most important events for industry professionals, media representatives and music fans. The Zombies, led by founding members Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent, made their SXSW debut in March, headlining the Yahoo! powered Austin Psych Fest and a special acoustic Daytrotter session, scheduled to air on May 6, 2013, among other performances, as well as a panel interview with NPR’s Bob Boilen. Their performances were called “jaw droppingly good,” “blissful,” and raved Blunstone and Argent “impressed with immaculate vocal harmonies.” The Zombies will also be back in the late summer/early autumn for a series of wet coast dates (details TBA).
The tour kicks off at The Bergen Performing Arts Center on June 13th and includes performances at NYC's prestigious SummerStage on June 15th as well as the popular Milwaukee Summerfest on June 29th.  This year, NYC's SummerStage is launching "Forewords," a panel discussion series before select SummerStage programs co-curated with The Strand Bookstore. On June 15th The Zombies will be one of the series' first guests during the program, "The British Invasion," where Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent will join filmmaker, Jonathan Demme. The event's moderator will be announced shortly. Et Tu Bruce', who opened for The Zombies at Austin Pych Fest during SXSW, will join the band on several dates this summer (see below). Described as "West London meets West Coast," Et Tu Bruce' blends pop, rock, folk and country and tie them all together with their signature harmonic sound. The New York Daily News' Jim Farber selected the band's debut album, Suburban Sunshine, as one of his Top 10 CDs of the week recently and said the band "so lovingly recalls the densely melodic strains of the Byrds, even Roger Mcguinn would be awed." Suburban Sunshine will be released on June 11 by SonaBLAST! records.
The Zombies also announce the U.S. release of their most recent album of new material, Breathe Out, Breathe In, via Redeye Distribution on June 11, 2013 to coincide with the tour.  The Huffington Post’s David Wild called the album “inspired” and said “some songs recall the haunting melodic heights of the group’s 1968 masterpiece Odessey and Oracle.”
Their music has had a profound and lasting impact on generations of new bands who cite their hit singles “She’s Not There,” “Tell Her No” and “Time Of The Season” and their enduring classic album Odessey and Oracle as pop touchstones. Such artists as Neko Case and Nick Cave (who have recorded “She’s Not There” for the popular HBO series True Blood), She and Him, Beck, Belle and Sebastian, The Fleet Foxes and The Beautiful South have pointed to The Zombies’ music as an important influence, and the songs written and performed by the group have been used in numerous films and television shows, including The Simpsons, Kill Bill 2, Awakenings and Dear Wendy. The group’s recent SXSW appearance confirmed not only their stature as groundbreaking, hit-making artists with a catalog of durable songs, but as a band that continues to make vital, contemporary music.
