CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED GERMAN BAND OKTA LOGUE MAKE U.S. DEBUT

TRANSIT EPSET FOR MAY 14 RELEASE

VIDEO FOR “TRANSIT” PREMIERES

Transit EP, the debut U.S. release from the lauded German ensemble Okta Logue, will be available May 14 on Columbia, and internationally via Sony Music. The new EP follows their self-produced album Ballads Of A Burden (2011), for which the band received widespread praise in Germany and the rest of Europe, and featured the track “Bright Lights” who’s video accompaniment won prestigious film awards including Best Music Video at Sehsuechte 2011 Potsdam, Best Music Video at Clipaward 2011 Mannheim, and first prize at Visionale 2010 Frankfurt.

The video for the title track off the new EP, “Transit,” can be streamed/shared at http://bit.ly/Yh0qnQ. The video follows in the footsteps of Okta Logue’s previous productions in that it is more of a short film. Entirely scripted by band, the video features a renowned cast including Oscar-nominated actor Sin Huh (Raju). Band member Nicolai Hildebrandt (organ) notes, “It was fascinating not only to watch the whole process from our own idea/treatment/script to the final video, but also being an active part of the planning and decision process, especially from a filmmaker’s perspective. We are happy that producer and director Christoph Holsten and his team found and captured the pictures we had in mind to complete our music.”

Okta Logue is Hildebrandt, Philip Meloi (guitar), Robert Herz (drums), and Benno Herz (vocals & bass)—all in their twenties and inspired by the new psychedelic rock era. The band produced Transit EP on their own at Hazelwood Studios in Frankfurt where they are based—borrowing songs from their debut release Ballads Of A Burden as well as their upcoming record Tales of Transit City due May 17 in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. See below for full track listing.

Since forming, the band has toured extensively—taking their infectious live performance to France, Sweden, U.K., and festivals including Burg Herzberg in Germany. Further tour dates to be announced soon.
