DEEP SEA DIVER HEADS OUT WITH TELEKINESIS FOR US DATES!
Tour Ends at Sasquatch Music Festival North American
Following their successful US tour in March, Seattle’s Deep Sea Diver is heading back out on the road in support of their release History Speaks with Merge Records artist Telekinesis for a run of North American dates which kicked off yesterday, April 30th. The tour includes stops in Chicago, NYC, DC, Atlanta and more with band finishing in their native Pacific Northwest at the Sasquatch Music on Sunday May 23rd. Complete list of tour dates below.

Deep Sea Diver frontwoman Jessica Dobson recently left behind her life as a touring guitarist of The Shins (she has also lent support to a constellation of acts including Beck, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) to focus completely on her own band which she helms along with drummer and husband Peter Mansen. When you hold the kind of resume that Dobson does, you have options. You can continue to parlay your role as an established touring musician into enviable gigs that will earn you a paycheck, or you can choose to close that chapter for the chance to write another. The couple has been reunited and focused on supporting History Speaks.
The album is a study in dynamics. Mansen and bassist John Raines weave an interlocking lattice of angular rhythms, shifting smoothly between various time signatures and nuances of syncopation. Their foundation is accented by supplemental percussion from long-time Tom Waits collaborator Stephen Hodges. Across this bed of cadences Dobson spins taut, staccato figures with her guitar. Spooling out with a gentle insistence, they serve as a backdrop for her evocative voice, its clarion tonality a ribbon that runs through the entire album.
