Lust For Youth is the solo moniker of Swedish producer, Hannes Norrvide. He began the project in 2009, in Gothenburg, Sweden at Utmarken (a rehearsal space, record shop, and venue). He was inspired by friends of his who were starting a post-punk band but at the time he only had an old toy keyboard. Therefore, the earliest incarnation of the band manifested as sort of primitive drone versions of synth-pop.
Perfect View is Lust For Youth's third full length, and it is warmer and more inviting than ever, despite a darker turn in influences than its predecessor, last year's 'Growing Seeds'. 'Growing Seeds' was influenced by new beginnings after a destructive relationship, whereas 'Perfect View' was written from a mind obsessed with thoughts of morality and tales from Par Lagerkvist's Mariamne; a fable about King Herod ordering the murder of his second wife. The album is composed of largely instrumental pieces, focusing more on beats, samples and general ambiance than previous efforts.
Lust For Youth is sharing the first single from the LP with us today - an electronic wash of beautifully composed synths with Hannes' desperate call looming over them. "Breaking Silence" showcases Hannes' ability to stray away from the noise and create a song that makes one feel emotion through his music, which is something that is tough to accomplish these days.
Additionally, Lust For Youth will be hitting the road in June for a string of US tour dates with NYC noise artist Pharmakon, and Ascetic House conspirators Body of Light. You can stream the track, and check out tour dates / album info below!
