IO ECHO ANNOUNCES SUMMER TOUR WITH CSS AND MS MR
PERFORMING IN SUPPORT OF DEBUT ALBUM, MINISTRY OF LOVE OUT NOW ON IAMSOUND
The Year of the Snake is proving to be quite productive for LA-based industrial pop duo, IO ECHO. Embarking on their fourth tour of 2013, the group will continue to build on their remarkable buzz while touring with fellow avant-rockers CSS and MS MR in support of their acclaimed debut LP Ministry of Love released April 2nd via IAMSOUND.
After dates with the likes of indie heavy-hitters Garbage, Bloc Party, and Joy Formidable and having shared the stage with the likes of No Doubt and Nine Inch Nails, IO ECHO continue to garner attention from industry peers, press and audiences alike with their live shows of self-described "pastel doom," dimmed strobe lights and sensu fans. Front woman Ioanna Gika draws from her time spent living in Asia by melding Eastern orchestration, including Koto and Chinese Violin, into the band's singular style.
Enamored by their dynamic debut album and charismatic live presence, the fashion world has embraced the duo with open arms. Ioanna was recently selected as the face of Henry Holland's eyewear line, as well as gifted a custom designed kimono from Jeremy Scott. Their mesmerizing interactive video for "Ministry of Love", which premiered on Noisey, has taken the Internet by storm, with viewers able to completely customize their own IO ECHO experience. With extremely well received appearances at major music festivals the likes of Coachella and South by Southwest (with a Lollapalooza appearance lined up for August) in their arsenal, the duo is taking the reigns as one of the most captivating acts of 2013. The tour kicks off June 14th in Costa Mesa.
