Following last week's performance at Pitchfork Music Festival, Frankie Rose announced news of her recent signing to Fat Possum Records, and confirmed that a new record was in the works. The Brooklyn-based artist followed up yesterday with the official announcement of her new album, Herein Wild, which will be out September 24th on Fat Possum.
Along with the news of a Fat Possum debut, Rose also shared a new track with fans titled "Sorrow", the first off the forthcoming Herein Wild. "Sorrow" is a catchy summertime anthem, possessing a nostalgic quality that serves to perfectly complement Rose's vocals.
SPINlauded "Sorrow" in a post on the track, remarking that Rose "expands on her New Wave-y pop leanings, turning in an upbeat, string-enhanced performance with just a hint of Broadcast in the mix." Stereogum went on to say the song "expands the chiffon pop sound of Interstellar by shooting it through with, like, David Lynch's idea of coffeehouse folk." Well said.

Press Quotes /

"An artist whose scope is increasing all the time and who knows exactly what she’s doing."  Stereogum
"There is no questioning her status as a crusader of Brooklyn’s indie-pop scene." The New York Times
"She's rocking the current micro-vogue for Eighties shoegaze pop: guitar-synth swirls, paper-thin New Wave bass surge, space-waif vocals like a spring breeze that barely billows your window curtains." Rolling Stone
