Hot on the heels of the release of her single ‘Revolusion’, Swedish artist Elliphant (AKA Ellinor Olovsdotter) has proven yet again that she is a force like no other with the release of her ‘Look Like You Love It’ EP out today.
Last week, she debuted a video for her powerful single ‘Revolusion’. Shot in Los Angeles where she is currently working on her next album, the video is the perfect companion to a track that is "deliberately designed to decimate and invigorate"(Noisey/VICE Magazine), and is “equal parts unsettling and pretty, a perfect match for the song’s sinister club throb.” (Idolator).
‘Look Like You Love It’ is available now exclusively on iTunes and features DJ/producer extraordinairesSkrillex, TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, Dr. Luke and Diplo. The 7 track EP includes 1 remix by London Future and 6 original tracks. The EP is available as a co-release via Sweden’s highly regarded Record Company Ten, Dr Luke’s Kemosabe Records and Diplo’s Mad Decent. Download the EP here.
Olovsdotter calls the music she makes as Elliphant “provocative pop,” and that’s exactly what she serves up on'Look Like You Love It'. “It's not following any of the rules of pop music, which is very controlled,” she explains. “My music is very wild and constantly changing – it can be rock, electronic, soft and hard, about nothing or everything. There’s a statement inside it, too, even if it doesn’t put you in a box.” According to Olovsdotter, the seven tracks on “Look Like You Love It” showcase what she calls the “four worlds of Elliphant.”
Elliphant will be making stops and performing live at Brooklyn’s Glasslands on April 10th and at the Echo in Los Angeles on April 18th. More live dates and news to come.
